life is menu
planning what
to eat when
where to shop
how much it
costs how much
to buy where
to stick it in
the kitchen
how to cook it
      
 2.

timing the clock
counting the ticks
pulsing the heart
finding the rhythm

rolling it over
sighing and hoping

closing the door
     (hearing it close)

holding my own
waiting the stay
