The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for March 2004
the story is built by pieces con versation s natches sunlit snow glare clouds and dawn light recognized familiar as the taste of time |
the sensation of separation and contentment the young men stir themselves the others older re cover their patterns the traffic moves in parallel the readers shift and settle how many listening how many marking time on paper or in the air |
the messages crackle with pretended meaning the assertions and un derstand ings and mysteries of irrelevance and the surrounding silence filling the page the ediface ephermal and banal as the concept of arrival |
constructed over measured time each piece slipping upon the other the shape of time reflected in the walls the slump of decay an ticipated in the rise |
