The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for May, 2006

Collage for May
(Four Fragments)

acid yellow forsythia spiking
in the sun i
fly by on the highway
windows down monk and coltrain
wailing

the pageant of
death, a grave parade
of the passing on
sunday morning
radio

a quote a
    snatch of song
a sigh a sneer

sucking down my
    dead cat’s
        meds
waste not want
    not

on my way to
    the other side of
        the river to
hear
    retired astronauts
        talking
their way
    back
        down

something silly from
nineteen
