The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for August 2008

August Doubleheader

i was just
thinking about
                     the
dodgems and how
crazy dangerous they
were

banging around
clock
         wise or
anti with no
middle
          connected
by a mast to
a mesh of
electricity
grounded

on the car
the graphite
                  coated
floor
       and
faith
perhaps

or innocence

                             dry
ice in the
alley subsuming
into the humid
morning
             having
chilled its
abandoned
shipping case of
frozen food

white bright
mist
       merging

the
low murk of
mid-summer
                   air
illuminated by the
start of
sunshine and i,
glancing
