The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for June, 2009

the last waltz
begins

random transitions
in the rain
stereo
          faltering
on the
          separations
swaying and
dropping out in
the shifting mix
                      [or maybe
the short cord is
hanging under
stress]

connecting his
ears to the
new lyrics detected
through the patter
on his hat and
shoulders
               the
early spring bounty
of the pines
collecting
wet and yellow on
his sneaker tips

new ways of
closing the circle
time shifting freely
the rain
            at least
more steady
                   now
