The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for March Special 2010

we all
heard it
then
       on the
white album

something in
the mix
the air
the attitudes

we couldn't
describe it

then
       we
listened
and worried

and wondered

what it was
in the background
like yoko's
edgy voice

behind
the bungalo

how the
slow-paced
shoo-be-doo-wop
revolution
and
      george's
self-reference
reflected
us
    them
          then
          a message
of change
amid all
the martin
strings?

at twenty-
two (then
in '68)
                  who
would not
                have
found the future

the music-
hall mischief, the
fadeouts and
fanfares all

foreboding
