The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for November 2010

trying to cut and
paste a poem out of
the early morning
as he lay on the day
bed the windows
open to let in the
cool air

trying to appreciate
where he was as
the church bells
rang in another
day
and someone in
the pool
quietly
splashed through

trying as he
waited for the
full day to ring out
to figure out if his
fat throat was
allergy or illness

trying
as the car
alarm on the other side
of the hotel is
mixed into the urban
rush
      and when the
high warble stops
it's as if there were
silence

and he stops
trying
