The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for August 2011

two fragments

  1.

early morning thunder
(always in the distance)
racing the dawn
and the warming
breezes
           stirring
the trees and
waking up the day

the purple finches
flushed into
the trees
             below
squirrel nests and
high
above the piney
piles of the
rabbits

2.

he walks away
     [watching]
no image to live
up to no past
to lose

moving in
his own time
     [no one
     else's]
