he is walking
too early
the
morning glories
still open
the
sunflowers
just unfurling

the weedy
nicotiana wave
in heaps by
the vacant lot

dreaming in
circles of his
youth in
nocent and
spent re
covered only
as the body
fails

the morning
glories
begin to
curl
