The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for March 2013

[starting to]
dissociate

from the body
vaguely hungry
his
butt adjusting in
the leather chair

the outside
of the
brain watching
the world go by
on tv
failing
to keep the inside
from [starting
to] float
away

and at the same
time reduce
itself to a point
a period
a dot
a thought un-
affected by
sensation but
trapped [all
the same]

     in time

the world like earphones
around him
their volume
ignored as
the floater
(the druzen shadow)
bounces off the
edges [inside of]
whatever life is

and then fades
[again]

and
wonders about the
score of the
hockey game
but flips anyway
to the
dog show

reintegrated
reluctantly
vaguely
hungry
