The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for August 2019

the poem
was there
                but
lost
in the night

unwillingness
or inability

to get up
              and
write it down

     [even
     overcoming

     what spark
     would there
     have been]

but it was
after all
just another
allusion to loss
and regret

the weak
squeak of
an old
man
       the echo
of a song
last danced to

long ago
