The FAB&PP Poem of the Month for May 2026

i am diligent
about my
underwear
     but
pull on the
same ratty sweater
every day
     if
i want

i cancel plans
and blame
     the
weather or
the state of
my state

i ignore the
news and holidays
     but
watch my
money
     drink
my wine

the tail of my
belt sticks
out
     my hair
is my own

i no longer
imagine
inappropriate
dialogs

those
possibilities

have been
swept away
with
     the seasons
     and reasons

flights are
less
fancy
     the
mundane

prevails
i cough
and sputter
     watch
the rain wait
for the mail

eating tomatoes
and banana
     cookies
i listen to
ancient music

every day

is a joy

and my t-shirts
are
immaculate
